About Me

I’m DJ Will! Color Sound Entertainment is my personal venture into the Austin, TX live entertainment industry. I’ve performed at over 300 weddings and private events since 2021 with some of the biggest and highly rated DJ companies in Austin. There’s a reason for that. Clients and Coordinators alike love working with me. They know I will deliver the absolute highest quality result for their event! That’s why I was personally invited to become a member of the Austin Wedding Planner’s Association, an exclusive invite-only group of like-minded wedding vendors that prize quality and exceptionalism above all else.

I’m very sensitive to all the big emotions and expectations you have for your event. I am well known for my fun and energetic mixes and can read your dance floor like a book. Your amazed guests will ask, “How did you find a DJ this good??” I will MC your event with ease and help prevent awkward silences. I will provide a clean and sharp DJ setup with dance lighting. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

While we have a set pricing structure that is competitive, we are able to offer discounts to clients that meet certain requirements. Reach out for more details!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

After receiving some initial basic info about your event, we can hop on a call to get to know each other, discuss the details further, and decide on a DJ/MC package for your event. You’ll have unlimited consultations with me throughout the process. In the week leading up to your event, we’ll have a final call to confirm all the details.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My education in DJ/MC skills is the real world! I’ve done over 300 events in just the past 4 years. There’s nothing like the real live feedback of a crowd to school you in the business of gettin’ folks to boogie. While I can play any genre of music, my real world experience has taught me which songs to play in any genre to get the best reaction from your crowd.
I also have a background in stage acting! This means I know how to make announcements and introductions over the mic with ease and class. You and your guests will feel comfortable with me behind the flow of your event.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started DJ’ing in 2012 while still in college. After graduating, I spent 6 years in Los Angeles studying music production and playing dance music in clubs. After moving to Austin TX in 2021, I began DJ’ing weddings full time. Since then, I’ve done over 300 events in over 100 venues.

What types of customers have you worked with?

All types! I’ve had every type of client, from those who have everything planned out, to those who have just begun hiring their vendors and want to leave it up to the professionals to provide them with some insight and advice.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

My fondest experiences come from those events where I was in perfect sync with the crowd, all of us vibing out to whatever nostalgic hit I was spinning, and the bride and groom in the center of the pit, at the apex of the ecstatic experience with friends and family. Those are the ones that are the most fulfilling.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You need a great MC! That’s me. In many cases people cite this as being even more important to them than the dance floor result. Sure, we all love a great party, BUT (especially with weddings), you need someone who will be attentive to the greater sensitivities of the moment, and not every DJ out there is up to the task.

I have a background in stage acting which has given me the ability to make announcements and introductions over the mic with class and ease. You and your guests will feel comfortable with me behind the flow of your event. I can even help you come up with an announcement plan that avoids potential social pitfalls and event transitions that leave you and your guests feeling awkward.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Ask yourself if your DJ prospect seems more into the idea of promoting his brand at your event instead of promoting you. With me at your event, you’re the show! Not me. I’m there to help bring the party vibes, sure, but your event is all about you and your friends having the best time on the dance floor. That ecstatic experience you’ll remember for years to come! I’m 110% committed to helping to make that happen.
